Tory goes Navy Chic
If you didn’t know, Tory Burch is new to our store this year and so far our Closet girls are loving her! So far, the styles have been so classic and rich in navy that you can splurge on one thing and make it go so many ways! Navy is so great for the summer especially when you are at the beach and you know we will have exactly what you are looking for!
The classic striped Bernadette top ($195) is a favorite of mine! Of course with stripes being so right now, this top is a little off the shoulder and not baring too much at all and can be worn either dressy or casual! Put with a great pair of jean leggings and keep it long and maybe even add a cool brown belt, or tuck into a fun pair of shorts and change up the look. Try adding a cool jacket and maybe even a vintage necklace like the ones we have from Natalie B and the look is yet again different!
The Stephanie tunic ($295) is so cute and has hints of silver sequins so if you aren’t loving the sequin look but want to get in on it, this is the way to go! Totally understated and we love how you can roll up the sleeves if you don’t want the “traditional” tunic look. Wear out at night to dinner, one day to lunch, and after wearing for a few times put it on to go to the beach with a great suit and a fun pair of silver flats and you will look like you just put an hour of work in and it’s so simple, just a few minutes and a great classic tunic!
If you want to splurge, we have the Alton Dress ($695) and the Linia Skirt ($395). These pieces are to die for! They are gorgeous and so classic that even though they are an investment, they will last a life time! The Alton dress speaks for itself. Wear to a black tie wedding or a special occasion and you will sparkle all night long! The Linia Skirt can be worn dressy or casual! Mix with a cute black tank a great black sandal and you will be dressed to impress. To dress down, do the same thing and change your shoes! Even wear throughout the holidays with some thick black tights, a black turtleneck, and fun booties! So many ways to wear this you won’t regret this purchase!
We love all of the styles below and have them in the store so stop in and check them out! Make this color and these styles preppy, chic, city– you can do anything with them, just be creative! Scared of the price point– pick one thing you love and find out how many ways you can wear the one style, at least 3 ways with each piece– You know we are here to help!

Baby Shower Dress code…hmmmm
SO, this must be the year for everyone close to me to be having babies!!! I have a handful of baby shower’s to go and they are all going to be at different venues so how many different outfits does one need???!
Well, considering the fact that a shower is normally held in the later a.m. or afternoon, please take a few key points into consideration. You definitely don’t want to show up to a baby shower looking like you are ready to go be the star on the dance floor, so put away your “girls” and take off your 5″ Louboutin’s (unless they are day time espadrilles or maybe even nude heels as they are a staple item of the Summer and a must have) and put on something delicate and feminine. Know the sex of the baby? Maybe add a little pink or blue into your mix!
Please consider the venue! If it is at a country club- important, do NOT wear jeans!!! You can maybe get away with white jeans, but go for a cute skirt or dress or a great pair of pants. In someone’s back yard, deck, or a garden party? You may want to stay away from heels, especially if you are going to be walking in grass. Find a cute pair of metallic flats, that never fails! Is it in someone’s home? Go for comfort but definitely stay cute!
We think that a great dress and a simple pair of heels or flat sandals are perfect for a baby shower! Also, if you have several showers to go to, a great pair of white skinny jeans or white pants can be mixed with several dressy tops! Keep redefining those white pants with different style tanks or blouses- buy something flowy and change the look with adding a belt or a necklace. Try tucking it in too for a different idea. Something more fitted? Change your jewelry to change the look. Find a few staples, put them together and add some jewelry! Work with what you have if you don’t want to go out and keep buying. As a last resort if you can’t figure something out, ask your girlfriends what they plan on wearing– then you can figure out based on what they are doing and you can coordinate with them. Remember, it’s always better to be a little over dressed than underdressed!!!
